Isabella DeAlmeida- musician/song writer

I started writing “Survivor” 3 years ago when I was an inpatient at the hospital. I used song writing as my therapy and let out my emotions in my songs. I didn’t come back to this song until about a year ago. When I came back to it, I knew I had to work on the lyrics and make this song as good as I could so that I can help other people who are going through the same thing as I was, with the goal of making the person listening feel like they are not alone, and that things DO get better.

I want to inspire people with this song and help others recover like I did. It was the hardest battle I ever fought, but it was the most successful. Recovering has been the best decision of my life, and this journey has made me into the person I am today. I have learned so much throughout the past 5 years of my life fighting this mental illness, and even with all the ups and downs I never gave up, and today I honestly couldn’t be more proud of myself.

I was also never alone during my recovery, and owe the biggest thanks to my mom Debbie, and amazing friend Daniel for being my biggest supporters and being part of the reason I am where I am today.
